BREWTAL

Aug 30, 2021

Episode 35 Breakdown:

Synopsis:

CHI CHI CHI AH AH AH, hopwolves! This episode Todd and Arie, literally, put on their favorite hockey masks to celebrate Friday the 13th this year.

Todd is celebrating his favorite slasher franchise by binging the machete weilding mama's boy's films while eagerly awaiting a new Friday the 13th fan film. Arie reconnects with some old friends for a film gig and contines to bebop around Indy with his partner.

Both hosts are hella stoked for their beer selections this week with Todd making his Space Way into the Modern Times enjoying something other than a pilsner. Arie literaly runs to the store to avoid being Hopped Alive by Beer Zombies. AHHHH!

The metal floodgates were bursting at the seems with both Reflections and Signs of the Swarm releasing heartfelt band statements, Trivium and Megadeth making headway on their latest albums, while the almighty Lamb of God celebrates 15 years of Sacrament. Tours with the likes of Carnifex are heating up while COVID is still trying to slow things down forcing bands such as Architects to change tour plans around. Oh! Did we mentioned that both Slaughter to Prevail and Lorna Shore dropped their newest release?? Kinda of a big deal!

Speaking of big deals, Billy Boy In Poison are taking us to the White Hills of Copenhagen, Demark to bestow their fresh take on modern death metal. The Danish know a thing or two about crushingly, groovy songwriting!

Turn it up to 11, crack open that beer, it's about to get BREWTAL!

Featured Band:

This week's episode features White Hills from Billy Boy In Poison.

Bio:

Billy Boy in Poison from Copenhagen offers an aggressive but very diverse take on death metal with heaviness, melodic choruses and even some metalcore and deathcore vibes. Strong songwriting combines with a top notch vocal performance to create a sometimes brutal, sometimes catchy, but always insistent sound.

BBiP put out two very well-received albums in 2013 and 2017 and is now ready with the third album UMBRA on September 10, produced by Chris Kreutzfeldt (MØL, Cabal, Ghost Iris).

After multiple festival appearances and short tours abroad, the band is now gearing up for touring in earnest and showcasing the new material.

What BBIP Is Drinking:

Christian (Bass) really loves Point Blank IPA from Warpigs

Hjalte (Vocals) is enjoying some Kroenbourg Blanche

MIkkel (Guitar) is quite fond of NEIPAs, but really just hazy or bitter IPAs in general. Recently he has enjoyed some tasty brews from Gamma and Deya.
